Lycos launches subscription music service ¶óÀÌÄÚ½º À¯·á À½¾Ç ¼ºñ½º½ÃÀÛ
Internet portal Lycos on Tuesday launched a new subscription-based music service with selections from four of the five major record labels.

Called Lycos Rhapsody, the service says it will offer about 10,000 selections from BMG, Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Recorded Music and Warner Music Group.

Users get free access to the service until June 30, and then can choose from three tiers of service, based on music preferences, Lycos says. The tiered service allows users to customize by the number of online audio streams, access to unlimited streams and music content.

Lycos Rhapsody is the latest effort by the parent company, Madrid-based Terra Lycos, to get users to switch from strictly free services to paid services. Over the past several months, Terra Lycos also introduced subscription-based Web page building products, as well as search, finance, community and e-mail products.
